The Wine
Penarth Estate cultivates classic sparkling wine grape varieties including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. They produce a range of wines, including still white, sparkling white, still rosé, and sparkling rosé. Their traditional method sparkling wines undergo a meticulous process, spending two years in stainless steel tanks on lees, followed by 12 months of bottle maturation. The still Pinot Noir is noted for its soft fruit and strawberry undertones, while the Chardonnay offers crisp, fresh green apple flavours. Penarth Estate's wines are crafted by award-winning winemaker Martin Fawkes and his team at Three Choirs Vineyard.The vineyard has received recognition in prestigious competitions, including medals in the Decanter World Wine Awards and the International Wine & Spirits Competition. Notably, a Penarth Estate Rosé received a 'Commended' award at the Decanter World Wine Awards in 2009.
