Top 50 Vineyards in Britain

There are now well over 200 vineyards in the UK open to the public, making it difficult to know which ones are worth your visit. These are the top 50 vineyards as judged by Google reviewers. But this list should only be your starting point for vineyard discovery - many vineyards have excellent ratings and reviews but don't appear in this list because of the formula used, and there are lots of amazing hidden gems just waiting to be discovered.

Make sure you also check out Vinebound's list of recommended vineyards that we've personally tried and tested.

Rankings are updated regularly, and were last calculated on 1 October 2026. Curious about how these are worked out? Head to the FAQ at the bottom of the page.

FAQ

How are the rankings calculated?

We use a Bayesian-weighted average of Google ratings that balances average score with number of reviews. It's the same type of system IMDB uses, but it does mean that larger vineyards or those that have been open longer and have had more visitors and therefore likely more reviews have an advantage. Prefer a different measure? Use the toggle above to switch to our awards-based ranking instead.

Are all vineyards eligible to be listed here?

Vineyards must have at least 50 reviews to be listed here, and they must be vineyards you can visit. Vineyards that are usually only available to visit as a wedding venue aren't included for example.
