How it started
In May 2025, while planning a trip to the New Forest, I came across a vineyard you could visit nearby. I’d always known English vineyards existed - there’s that one friend who always turned up with a bottle of Nyetimber - but I’d never thought about visiting one. That evening, with a glass of definitely-not-English wine in hand, I booked tickets to Setley Ridge and, noticing another just down the road, The Wharie Experience.
By the second or third glass I thought, why stop there? Within days I was plotting vineyard weekends for the summer and pencilling in 2026 trips to Cornwall for sea views and sparkling, Kent for its cluster of top estates, a full tour of Wales, and more in between.
From Planning to Vinebound
When I started organising, I found plenty of information online, but it was often out of date, incomplete, or hard to filter. Vineyard events were another challenge: there were brilliant ones happening, but no easy way to see what was on, when, and where. That’s when the idea for Vinebound was born. It’s definitely a work in progress (you could say it’s still ageing on the lees) but it’s already the tool I use to plan my own visits, and I hope it helps you do the same.
