Setley Ridge
The walk from Brockenhurst station to Setley Ridge Vineyard provides an excellent immersion into the New Forest National Park. The route transitions from the outskirts of Brockenhurst village, which offers pubs and restaurants, into the heart of the ancient forest and heathland, promising beautiful scenery. Along the way, expect to encounter diverse wildlife such as badgers, foxes, deer, and various birds like owls and buzzards, making it a "wonderful spot for nature lovers". The walking is generally easy, with level ground and gentle gradients, though strong, waterproof boots are recommended during wetter seasons due to potentially muddy sections. Upon arrival at Setley Ridge, you'll find a Farm Shop offering local produce and free wine tasting, a Tea Room for meals and cakes, and a Garden Centre. Nearby, The Filly Inn pub is just a few minutes' walk via a woodland footpath. If walking is not preferred, taxis are available from Brockenhurst station, and it's advisable to book ahead. Local options include Brockenhurst Taxis (01590 54 54 54 or 07708 866 844).
