The Wine

Return to contents
Ludlow Vineyard produces a range of English wines, including refreshing still white, delicate still rosé, and elegant sparkling wines. The vineyard primarily cultivates white grape varieties such as Seyval and Solaris, alongside Madeleine Angevine, Phoenix, Madeleine Sylvaner, Kernling, and Ortega. Red varieties like Rondo, Regent, and Triomphe also contribute to their production, particularly for their rosé.

Their sparkling wine is crafted using the traditional Méthode Champenoise, resulting in a refined and biscuity flavour. Ludlow Vineyard has garnered several awards for its wines over the years, including Bronze and Silver Medals, and “Highly Commended” recognitions at the English & Welsh Wine of the Year Competition for various vintages of their Clee Moonlight, Clee Mists, Clee Dawn, Clee Springs, and Clee Sunburst sparkling wines, predominantly from the mid-2000s. Their Clee Mists white wine has been particularly noted as award-winning.

Ludlow Vineyard produces its own wines from grapes grown on its 2.5-acre site and also incorporates a distillery on site. There is no publicly available information indicating that Ludlow Vineyard holds specific organic, regenerative, or other sustainability certifications.
