The Wine

Quoins Organic Vineyard produces four single-variety still wines: two white, a rosé, and a red. These are crafted from three grape varieties – the white Madeleine Angevine and Orion, and the red Rondo, from which the rosé is also produced using the saignée method. All Quoins wines are certified organic and vegan-friendly, containing very low levels of sulphites.

The vineyard yields approximately 3,000 to 4,000 bottles annually from its one-hectare site. While the vineyard itself does not have an on-site winery, its wine production process is fully certified organic, with winemaking handled by other certified organic producers such as Sedlescombe Vineyard and Litmus Winery.

Quoins wines have consistently received acclaim, regularly winning awards at prestigious competitions. The Orion white wine, a bestseller, has won national prizes at the UK Vineyards Association (UKVA) competition, including silver and bronze awards for its 2014 and 2015 vintages respectively. Their 2013 Orion also earned a Decanter World Wine bronze award, and the Madeleine Angevine received a commended award at the Decanter World Wine Awards in 2019.

The vineyard is certified organic by the Soil Association and also employs biodynamic practices. This commitment means no inorganic fertilisers, pesticides, or herbicides are used, fostering a rich habitat for local wildlife and ensuring sustainable viticulture.
