The Wine

Busi Jacobsohn Wine Estate is a dedicated single-estate producer of luxury English sparkling wines, focusing exclusively on vintage releases made from grapes grown on their own land. They cultivate traditional Champagne varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, in their High Weald vineyards. Their range includes a Classic Cuvée Brut, a Rosé, Blanc de Blancs, and Blanc de Noirs, all crafted to reflect the unique terroir of their estate.

The wines have garnered significant recognition since their first vintage in 2017. Their Blanc de Noirs 2018 won the prestigious Sparkling Wine Trophy at the Independent English Wine Awards (IEWA) in 2023 and a Gold medal at the International Wine Challenge (IWC) 2023. The Blanc de Blanc 2018 also received a Gold Medal in the Drinks Business Spring Tasting and a Silver Medal at the IEWA 2022. Furthermore, their Cuvée Brut 2017 earned 94 points from Decanter, a Wine GB Bronze, and a Glass of Bubbly Gold award, with the 2019 Cuvée Brut also receiving a Decanter Silver Award. All their wines are suitable for vegans.

The vineyard takes a robust approach to sustainability, caring for their soils by keeping pesticides and herbicides to a bare minimum, with a goal to become completely herbicide-free through mechanical weed management. They reduce their carbon footprint by using solar panels to power winery operations, feeding excess energy back to the grid, and utilizing biomass heating. This commitment extends to promoting the vineyard as a vital ecosystem and habitat for local wildlife. The estate proudly has its own winery on-site, allowing for complete control from grape to glass.
