Glyndwr Vineyard operates strictly by appointment for tours.Booking Tours: All visits, including tours, must be pre-booked on their website. Tours are held on set dates throughout the year.
Tour Experience: Tours begin at 12:30 PM with a glass of Welsh sparkling wine. This is followed by a guided vineyard tour, including the chance to meet the resident llamas. A freshly prepared two-course meal featuring local produce, such as quiches, local sausages, Welsh cheeses, and a dessert, is served, complemented by two further Glyndwr wines.
On-site Dining: While there isn't a standalone restaurant, tours include a substantial two-course lunch.
Special Events: The vineyard is available for private events, including weddings, hen dos, parties, and corporate gatherings.
Accommodation: Glyndwr Vineyard offers self-catered, individually designed boutique accommodations, including a new luxury Log Cabin for 2025. These are dog-friendly, feature en-suite bathrooms and kitchens, and overlook the vineyard's scenic grounds.
Dogs & Children: Dogs are welcome in the vineyard's accommodation, but are generally not permitted within the main vineyard touring areas due to the presence of sheep, chickens, and llamas. Tour content is geared towards adults.
The Wine
Glyndwr Vineyard produces a range of award-winning wines, including White, Red, Rosé, and Sparkling varieties. Their wines are crafted from various grape varieties such as Rondo, Regent, Triomphe d'Alsace, Leon Millot, Reichensteiner, Siegerrebe, Madeleine Angevine, and Seyval Blanc. All Glyndwr wines are vegan-friendly.The vineyard has earned numerous accolades from publications like Decanter Magazine and the UK Vineyards Association Awards. Their sparkling Brut wine has notably won first prize in the South West Vineyards Association competition. In the same competition, their red wine achieved a double gold, a first for the event, recognized by four Masters of Wine. The Glyndwr 1989 White was also highly commended, placing in the top four British vineyards by Wine Magazine and receiving a 'Commended' in the 1991 International Wine Challenge.
The vineyard proudly utilizes its own cellars beneath the farmhouse, where wines are stored and matured, reflecting over 40 years of winemaking expertise. Glyndwr Vineyard emphasizes environmentally friendly practices; their vines are treated with organic materials, and hedges are allowed to grow wild to encourage bird life, fostering a natural habitat for chickens, ducks, and wild pheasants.
