Bookings advisable -- site notes very few walk-ins accommodated at quieter times of year, best to reserve a table. Previous entry had Wed/Thu/Fri/Sun closing at 17:00, live site (opening-hours page, June-Aug 2026 schedule) shows Tue-Thu and Sunday closing 30 minutes earlier at 16:30.

Opening hours can change for private events - it's always worth checking the vineyard's website before you visit.

Experience a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere nestled in the Brecon Beacons National Park, offering panoramic views of the Usk Valley and the iconic Sugar Loaf Mountain, where friendly staff welcome you to stroll through the vines.

Self-Guided Tours: Self-guided tours of the vineyard are welcome with no prior booking required.

Guided Tours: Guided tours with wine tasting are available and should be pre-booked, especially for groups of 8-25 people.On-site Cafe: A licensed coffee shop on site serves light refreshments, including coffee, cake, cream teas, and local cheese sharing platters, which are perfect to enjoy with a glass of wine. Booking a table at the cafe is advisable, particularly during busy periods.

Special Events: The vineyard also hosts events and workshops with artists, musicians, writers, and poets.

Accommodation: Self-catering holiday cottages are available on site, providing a comfortable base for exploring the Brecon Beacons and Wye Valley.

Dogs & Children: Children are welcome. Dogs are permitted in the outdoor areas and in the tasting tent.

Wine Tastings: Tasting trays are available - no booking required. Simply order at your table and you will be served a selection of wines with comprehensive tasting notes. Tastings are priced from £6 per person.

Gift Shop: The vineyard has a small shop stocking a range of unique locally sourced products, alongside their own wines.

The Sugar Loaf Vineyards cultivate seven varieties of grapes across five acres of south-facing slopes, producing a diverse range of their own wines. This includes four varieties of white wine, a special blend of red wine, and sparkling wines. Their white wines are described as crisp and refreshing with notes of green apple and grapefruit.

Their wines have consistently achieved 'Quality Status' from the European Wine Standards Board and have won multiple awards in national competitions.

While the vineyard focuses on viticulture, they produce their own distinct range of wines from the grapes grown on site.

By Car
Ample parking is available on site. From the A40 heading from Abergavenny towards Brecon, pass Nevill Hall Hospital on your left, then take the first right after the hospital signposted for Sugarloaf Vineyards. Continue by taking the first left, second left, and then the third right into the vineyard.

By Public Transport
The nearest train station is Abergavenny. A taxi from Abergavenny Station to the vineyard takes approximately 19 minutes (6.8 miles) and costs around £17-£21. Alternatively, a bus service operates to Nevill Hall hospital, which is near the vineyard turnoff, followed by a short taxi ride.
