The Wine Return to contents
Leckford Estate is dedicated to producing English sparkling wine. They cultivate the classic Champagne grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay on their 4.7-hectare vineyard. Their flagship wine, the Leckford Estate Brut, is a blend of these grapes, known for aromas of toasted brioche and hazelnuts, leading to a creamy palate with apple and peach flavours. They also produce a limited edition Blanc de Blanc, made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes, offering a crisp taste.

Leckford Estate's sparkling wines have received notable recognition. The Leckford Estate Brut has been featured as The Independent's Indy Best Buy sparkling wine for summer. The 2016 vintage received a Silver award at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2021 (scoring 91 points), and Bronze awards at both the International Wine Challenge 2021 and the IWSC International Wine & Spirit Competition 2021.

The vineyard at Leckford Estate leads in sustainability, being the first vineyard and orchard in the UK to achieve Regenified certification, a global standard for regenerative agriculture. The estate is committed to farming in harmony with nature, focusing on regenerative practices that aim to restore soil health, improve the water cycle, increase carbon capture, and enhance biodiversity. Their methods include minimising soil disturbance, maximising crop diversity, and utilising waste byproducts. While the grapes are grown on the estate, the winemaking process itself is handled by the award-winning Ridgeview Winery.
