What's the vibe?
Quiet, rural, and deliberately low-key. Mousehall Country Estate sits in a hidden valley within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering a relaxed and personal experience rather than a polished visitor centre. Expect working farmland, vineyards woven into the landscape, and an emphasis on craft, sustainability, and small-scale production rather than crowds or spectacle.

Tours & Tastings: Mousehall offers guided vineyard, winery, and distillery tours with tastings. These typically include a walk through the vineyard and an introduction to their wine and spirit production, followed by a tasting of selected wines and/or spirits. Visits are bookable in advance via the estate’s website and are not designed for casual walk-ins.
Events: Occasional special events and hosted experiences take place throughout the year, usually centred around tastings or seasonal moments in the vineyard.
Accommodation: The estate offers on-site accommodation in a converted oast house, available for short stays. This is positioned as a rural retreat rather than hotel-style lodging.
Dogs: There is no clearly published dog policy for tours or tastings. Visitors planning to bring dogs should check directly with the estate in advance.
Children: Mousehall is a working estate rather than a family attraction. Children are not permitted to participate in tastings, and suitability for younger visitors depends on the specific experience booked.

The Wine
Return to contents
Mousehall produces English wines from its East Sussex vineyards, planted with classic varieties including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. Wines are made on site and released in small quantities, reflecting the estate’s focus on craftsmanship over volume.
In addition to wine, Mousehall operates an on-site distillery producing spirits, including a Sussex dry gin made using locally sourced botanicals. Wine and spirits are both part of the estate’s identity rather than separate operations.
The vineyard and wider estate follow sustainable and regenerative farming principles, including biodiversity initiatives and mixed land use alongside viticulture.
