What's the vibe

Polmassick Vineyard offers an unpretentious and genuinely warm Cornish welcome. As Cornwall's oldest vineyard, it provides an idyllic and peaceful escape where visitors can enjoy self-guided walks amongst the vines. Many describe the experience as having true soul, appreciating the real and friendly atmosphere.

Visiting information

Open: Polmassick Vineyard typically opens seasonally during the summer months, though wine sales are available year-round by arrangement. Visitors are encouraged to call ahead to confirm opening days and times, as these can vary.Tours: Self-guided walks are available, allowing you to explore the vineyard at your own pace.

Refreshments: Cream teas and light refreshments are available during opening hours. Visitors are also welcome to bring their own picnic to enjoy in the sheltered and peaceful wine garden.
Dogs & Children: Both dogs (on a lead) and children are welcome to the vineyard.

Important Note: While some sources indicate seasonal opening for visits and self-guided walks, the vineyard's own website currently states that the cellar door is not open for wine tastings or vineyard walks due to previous COVID restrictions. It is highly recommended to contact the vineyard directly before planning your visit to confirm current opening status and arrangements.

The Wine

Polmassick Vineyard cultivates a variety of grapes well-suited to the Cornish climate, including Müller Thurgau, Seyval Blanc, Kernling, Pinot Noir, Ortega, Rondo, and Regent. From these, they produce still white and red wines, along with rosé. The vineyard operates its own winery and cellar door, where guests can sample their range of wines. A significant portion of the original vines have been replanted with new varieties by the current owners, Nick and Jo West, who took over in 2014.

Information regarding specific wine awards or recognized sustainability practices (such as organic or regenerative viticulture) for Polmassick Vineyard is not explicitly available.
