Opening Hours: The vineyard is open all year, Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 to 17:00, and Sunday from 10:00 to 12:00. It is closed on Mondays.
Tours & Tastings: Guided tours and tastings are regularly offered throughout the summer, typically running from Easter until the end of October. These informal and informative experiences include a vineyard walk, a visit to their winery, and a tasting of their wines and ciders paired with local cheeses. Tours cost £22 per person and cream teas can be added. Booking is required for tours.
Dining: While there isn't a dedicated cafe or restaurant on site, cream teas are served prior to tours. The nearby market town of Malton, known as 'Yorkshire's Food Capital', offers numerous dining options.
Special Events: Ryedale Vineyards hosts various events throughout the year, including Open Days, Live Theatre, and Yorkshire Day celebrations, often featuring brass bands and Morris Dancing.
Accommodation: Guests can stay in one of two beautiful rooms, 'The Fox' and 'The Pheasant', located in the 500-year-old farmhouse on site, offering a B&B experience. Due to the age of the building, guests with mobility concerns should note there are narrow staircases, low ceilings, and beams.
Accessibility: The vineyard and farm environment are not suitable for children during tours, and dogs are generally not permitted on tours due to the presence of sheep, though assistance dogs are welcome. Dogs on leads may be welcome during specific public event days when sheep are not in the vineyard area.

The Wine
Return to contents
Ryedale Vineyards produces a diverse range of still and sparkling wines, including red, white, and rosé varieties, along with cider and apple juice. They cultivate 18 different grape varieties, such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Bacchus, Solaris, and Pinot Gris.
Their wines have consistently received awards since their first release. Notable accolades include multiple trophies and a gold medal for their Dalesman Sparkling wine in 2015, alongside international medals from the International Wine Challenge. More recently, their Strickland Red 2018 earned a silver medal at the 2020 WineGB Awards. The 2022 vintage Pinot Gris also secured the WineGB trophy for the Best Single Varietal Still White Wine in the UK in 2024.
All aspects of wine production, from pruning and harvesting to pressing, fermenting, bottling, and labelling, are carried out by hand in their converted cow byre on site, ensuring a hands-on approach from grape to bottle. The vineyard employs a low-spray approach to benefit the environment and local wildlife, encouraging wildflowers and working with organisations like the RSPB to enhance birdlife.
