The Wine
Coddington Vineyard is dedicated to producing a select range of white wines from its two-acre, south-facing vineyard planted in 1980. They cultivate three grape varieties: Bacchus, Ortega, and Pinot Gris, which thrive in the cool climate. The vineyard produces still white wines from its Bacchus and Ortega grapes. The Bacchus, known for its crisp, dry finish with notes of elderflower and citrus, has received "SWVA Silver Awards" for previous vintages. The Ortega yields a wine with a fine aroma reminiscent of peaches. From the Pinot Gris, they craft a very fine sparkling wine, the Pinot Gris Classic Cuvee, which has a fruity aroma and spicy flavour. Coddington Vineyard creates its wines on-site in a small winery, allowing for complete control over the winemaking process.
