The Wine
Hanwell Wine Estate specialises in English sparkling wines, crafted using the traditional champagne method from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier grapes. Their range also includes a crisp, traditional-method English Sparkling, a smoky, fruity red, and the internationally award-winning dessert wine 'North Star'. The wines are produced in their internationally award-winning winery, with grapes also transported to the nearby Eglantine's winery for processing. The family has been sustainably growing grapes in Nottinghamshire since 1975, celebrating 50 years in 2025. The vines are hand-tended to maintain a balance with nature, with volunteers contributing to the vineyard's environmental sustainability by performing tasks like bud rubbing and de-leafing. Hanwell Wine Estate was also recognised as Business of the Year in the Celebrating Rushcliffe Awards in 2019.
