The Artisan Wine and Gift Shop (sells Buzzards Valley wine, walk-in, no appointment) is the actual visiting point - part of the wider Buzzards Valley site (nature trail, fisheries, independent shops). Separate guided vineyard tours are arranged via a "Vineyard & Kestrel Booking" system.

Opening hours can change for private events - it's always worth checking the vineyard's website before you visit.

What's the vibe?

Buzzards Valley Wines is a long-established, family-run vineyard and winery set on a mixed-use rural estate in the Canwell Valley. In addition to wine production, the site hosts several small visitor-facing businesses, creating a relaxed, informal destination rather than a single-purpose vineyard attraction.

Visiting:
Walk-ins are welcome and no booking is required for a shop visit or courtyard picnic. Car parking on site is free.

Tours and Tastings:
Winery tours - including a slideshow on the winemaking process and a tasting of three wines - are available by advance booking; places are limited so booking is essential. In-shop sampling is available daily, and DIY tasting experiences (from £30 per person) are bookable via the events page. The DIY Spirit and Chocolate Tasting pairs sweet potato spirits with handcrafted chocolates chosen from the on-site chocolate cabinet. A Picnic in the Courtyard basket is available from £40 per basket with no booking required.

Food and Drink:
Kiki's Bistro, which previously operated on site as an independent business, is now closed. The Artisan Wine and Gift Shop stocks Buzzards Valley wines and locally sourced products, and guests can build their own picnic basket from the shop's selection to enjoy in the courtyard.

Nature Trail:
The trail is not suitable for pushchairs, prams, wheelchairs or mobility aids due to uneven ground.

Private Hire:
The Woodland Retreat and Bluebell Canopy - a private area set within ancient woodland over 400 years old - are available to hire by the hour, 90 minutes, half day or full day. Both spaces are well suited to wellbeing activities such as yoga, sound baths, forest bathing and tai chi, as well as outdoor classrooms and corporate groups. Corporate hampers are also available. Dogs and Children:
The site is family-friendly. Dogs are welcome on leads on the Nature Trail.

Buzzards Valley Wines produces a broad range of still white, rosé and red wines, alongside traditional method sparkling wines. Grape varieties grown on site include Seyval Blanc, Rondo, Regent, Reichensteiner, Phoenix, Madeleine Angevine and Pinot Noir.

All wines are produced on site, with grape growing, winemaking, bottling and labelling carried out at the estate winery. The wines are vegan-friendly and made with low sulphur additions.

Several wines have received awards at international competitions, including silver and bronze medals at the International London Wine Competition. The overall focus is on accessible, small-batch English wines rather than single-varietal or terroir-driven releases.

By car:
Buzzards Valley Wines is located near Canwell, between Tamworth, Lichfield and Sutton Coldfield, with easy access from the M6 Toll. On-site parking is available.

By public transport:
The nearest railway station is Four Oaks. From there, a taxi is required. Local bus services also operate in the wider area, though final access is limited without a car.
