What's the vibe

Heppington Vineyard is a family-run, single-estate vineyard nestled on the picturesque Kent Downs, offering sweeping views towards Canterbury Cathedral. It cultivates an elegant and refined atmosphere, focusing on producing high-quality English still and sparkling wines.

Visiting information

Heppington Vineyard primarily operates direct-to-consumer sales via its website. There is no information available regarding regular public opening hours, drop-in visits, or on-site facilities like a restaurant or cafe. For any potential visits or experiences at the vineyard, it is advisable to contact them directly to arrange a prior appointment.

The Wine

Heppington Vineyard produces a range of elegant English wines, including sparkling and still varieties. The vineyard is planted with classic Champagne grapes such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier, alongside Pinot Gris, which contribute to both their sparkling and still wine production. Their sparkling wines include a Classic Cuvée and a Sparkling Rosé, with a Blanc de Blancs also maturing. Still wines include Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay.

Heppington wines have garnered significant recognition. Their Sparkling Rosé won a Gold Medal in the Classic & Elegant Category at the Glass of Bubbly Awards 2024. The Classic Cuvée 2019 received a Silver Medal in the Zesty & Zingy Category at the same awards. The Heppington Chardonnay 2022 was awarded Silver medals by both the London Wine Competition and WineGB in 2024. Additionally, their 2020 wines collectively secured three silver medals and one gold award.

Heppington's sparkling wines are crafted by the acclaimed winemaker Emma Rice of Hattingley Valley, while their still wines are produced by Defined Wine, a reputable winery located south of Canterbury.
