What's the vibe?

Woolton Farm offers a rustic escape in the Kent countryside, with a range of events during the summer, and a crowd that also visits for the cider. This gives the vineyard a unique atmosphere that is both lively and relaxed allowig visitors to unwind amidst beautiful surroundings.

Opening Season: The Barn, along with camping and glamping facilities, operates from April to September. A small shop in the main farm office is open October to March. Three self-catered cottages are available year-round.

Access: You can pop into The Barn for drinks and food during opening hours - no booking needed to visit.

Tours & Tastings: Wine and cider tours run on set days from April to September and should be pre-booked; tours are priced from £20 per person. Tasting flights can also be purchased on the day from £15 per person. Private tours are also available - check the website for details.

Dining: The Barn is open Friday to Sunday (including bank holidays) from April to September, serving breakfast from 9am to 12pm and a lunch and dinner menu from 12pm to 8pm. The kitchen focuses on locally sourced Kentish produce, with sourdough pizzas, charcuterie, cheese boards, light bites, and a full breakfast and brunch offering. Vegan options are available throughout.

Events: Woolton Farm hosts a varied calendar of events throughout the year, including music, classic car shows, summer fêtes, and food and drink festivals.

Accommodation: Guests can choose from three self-catered cottages (Ellen's Cottage, The Oast, and The Old Tannery), eight furnished bell tents, or self-pitch camping in Ellen's Meadow. The cottages are available year-round; bell tents and camping are seasonal (April to September). Tent pitches start from £30 per night and bell tents from £130 per night.

Dogs & Children: Dogs are welcome on leads in the camping areas and around The Barn, with treats and water bowls available at the bar; they are not permitted in the bell tents. Children are welcome throughout the site, and extra mats can be provided in bell tents. Ellen's Meadow is car-free, making it a good choice for families. Note that ball games and bicycles are not permitted in the garden area around The Barn.

Accessibility: Accessible toilet and washroom facilities are available on site near The Barn. The Barn itself is step-free, but the wider outdoor areas - including the vineyard and camping fields - have uneven ground that may present difficulties for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility.

Woolton Farm produces a range of small-batch, single-estate English wines from its 2.5-acre vineyard, planting Bacchus, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay. As a family-run estate, the approach favours quality and experimentation over volume. The portfolio spans still whites, sparkling wines - including a Sparkling Bacchus Charmat and a Pinot Noir Brut - a still Rosé, and a Pet Nat Chardonnay for those after something a little less conventional.

Vines were first planted here in 2016, and the farm released its debut wines in 2021. Recognition has followed quickly: the wines hold PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) status from Wine GB and have earned both a Gold Medal at the International Wine Challenge and a Gold award from Wine GB.

The site benefits from a south-facing aspect, a sheltered position, and gravelly, nutrient-rich soils - conditions that provide a reliable microclimate for ripening grapes in the Kent countryside. All winemaking takes place in the on-site winery, keeping the process close to the land from vine to bottle.

The nearest train station is Bekesbourne, which is about a 15-minute walk from the farm. Bekesbourne is one stop away from Canterbury by train.
