What's the vibe?

Off The Line Vineyard offers a relaxed but contemporary experience in the Sussex Weald, set within a biodiverse landscape alongside the Cuckoo Trail. It feels informal and welcoming, with a strong emphasis on rosé-led winemaking, sustainability, and easy-going visits rather than a traditional, formal vineyard tour model.

The Wine

Return to contents
Off The Line Vineyard focuses primarily on English rosé, producing both still and sparkling styles. The core plantings are red varieties including Regent, Pinot Noir, Rondo, and Dornfelder, with more recent plantings of Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier expanding the range. Rosé is central to the estate’s identity, with labels such as Hip Rosé, Dancing Dog, Dog Rosé, and a Charmat-method sparkling rosé forming the backbone of the portfolio.

Sustainability underpins vineyard and winery decisions. Disease-resistant grape varieties are used to reduce the need for chemical treatments, and vine prunings are mulched annually to support soil health. The wider 13-hectare site incorporates pasture, ponds, and woodland, encouraging biodiversity beyond the vines.

Winemaking takes place on site in a modern, purpose-built cedar-clad winery designed with sustainability in mind. Grapes are pressed on site, winery waste water is treated through a dedicated system, and grape skins and stems are composted back into the vineyard. No animal-derived products are used in winemaking, and all wines are suitable for vegans.
