The Wine
Trotton Estate Vineyards cultivates classic grape varieties including Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay, Bacchus, and Pinot Gris. From these, they produce both still white wines and traditional method English sparkling wines.Their still white wine, "Brilliant Bacchus with a hint of Pinot Gris," has received notable recognition. The 2015 vintage won a Silver Medal at the Sommeliers Wine Awards in 2017, an achievement repeated by their 2016 vintage. They have proudly won awards for each vintage of their Brilliant Bacchus.
Their English Sparkling Brut Classic Cuvée, crafted by French winemakers from traditional French grape varieties, has consistently outperformed renowned Champagne houses in blind tastings and is highly acclaimed by customers. This sparkling wine has also received a "96 Gold" rating from WinePleasures.com.
While the grapes are grown on the estate in West Sussex, the winemaking process takes place off-site, with their grapes being transported to Stopham Estate where winemaker Simon Woodhead oversees production. The vineyard is not an organic wine producer.
