The Wine Return to contents
Roebuck Estates is dedicated to producing exceptional vintage sparkling wines, employing the traditional method. They focus on the classic Champagne grape varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, grown across their five carefully selected vineyard parcels in Sussex and Kent. Their commitment to quality ensures that each bottle is a true expression of its vintage.
Since their first wine release in 2019, Roebuck Estates has garnered numerous accolades in prestigious global wine competitions. Notably, their Classic Cuvée 2017 was awarded 'Best in Show' at the Decanter World Wine Awards in 2020. More recently, their Rosé de Noirs 2018 received a Gold medal with 96 points at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2024, while their 2019 vintage won a trio of awards from the IWSC.
Roebuck Estates places a strong emphasis on sustainability, aiming to minimise their environmental impact and enhance biodiversity. They are a founding member of the Sustainable Wines of Great Britain (SWGB) certification scheme. Their sustainable initiatives include introducing beehives, birdhouses, insect hotels, and reptile habitats, alongside planting wildflower meadows and utilising sheep for winter grazing. They also make a conscious effort to reduce herbicides and minimise pesticide use. While highly committed to sustainability, Roebuck Estates is not certified as an organic producer.
All Roebuck Estates wines are produced from hand-selected, estate-grown fruit. The winemaking process involves fermentation in old Burgundian oak barrels and extended lees-ageing, contributing to the wines' complexity and distinctive style.
