The Wine

Wythall Estate Vineyard prides itself on producing award-winning English still and sparkling wines exclusively from grapes grown on its four-acre estate in Herefordshire. The vineyard cultivates four main grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Siegerrebe, Rondo, and Orion, chosen to thrive in the unique micro-climate of the Wye Valley. Their portfolio includes elegant still reds like the Pinot Noir Reserve, which garnered a silver medal with 94/100 points at the Wine GB Awards 2025, and the Estate Red, crowned Best Red at the 2024 Wine GB West Awards. The Siegerrebe, a distinct white variety, also earned a silver medal at the Wine GB Awards 2025. Their Vintage Rosé 2024 received a silver medal at the Independent English Wine Awards. Notably, their 2019 Pinot Noir achieved a gold medal at the Independent English Wine Awards, standing out as the only red wine in the UK to do so that year.

The vineyard adopts a low-intervention approach to viticulture, focusing on sustainable practices and biodiversity. They view themselves as stewards of the land, preserving the historic estate for future generations. The success of their wines is attributed to this commitment, alongside the favorable micro-climate created by the surrounding terrain which protects the vines and harnesses the sun's warmth. All wines are made solely from their estate-grown fruit, ensuring a direct expression of the Herefordshire terroir.
