The Wine
Kerry Vale Vineyard cultivates four grape varieties: Rondo, Pinot Noir, Phoenix, and Solaris, which are chosen for their suitability to the English climate. Their portfolio includes still red and white wines, as well as sparkling wines. Notable still wines include 'Offa's Shadow', a fruit-forward red made from the Rondo grape, and 'Shropshire Lady', a dry white wine produced from the Solaris grape, which is described as their signature wine. The wines are produced at the award-winning Halfpenny Green Vineyard, indicating an off-site winemaking partnership.Kerry Vale Vineyard has garnered multiple national and international awards for its wines. Their 'Offa's Shadow' (2022 vintage) received a Bronze Medal at the WineGB 2025 Awards. Previously, 'Shropshire Lady' and 'Summer Days' earned two awards at the English and Welsh Wine of the Year competition in 2016. The 'Shropshire Lady' (2019 vintage) also secured a Silver award at the WineGB awards and was recognised as one of the top 100 wines in the UK.
The vineyard employs viticulture practices aimed at quality, including selecting disease-resistant grape varieties to minimize spraying and focusing on canopy management to enhance airflow and sun exposure.
