Walk-in Wine Bar in the Vines, drop in for a wine flight tasting, glass of wine and charcuterie -- no booking needed, or ring/call in. Separate bookable Vineyard Tours and Tasting run online (GBP40pp adult, includes tour, charcuterie and 4-wine flight). Follow the Google Maps pin drop, not the farm postal address, to find the vineyard and bar. Previous entry was a generic appointment-only guess with LOW confidence -- the sites own Events page gives full walk-in hours.

Opening hours can change for private events - it's always worth checking the vineyard's website before you visit.

What's the vibe?

Veenow is Shropshire's largest family-run vineyard, nestled in the rolling fields of Waters Upton. With a deep commitment to sustainability - they are the only certified vineyard and wine producer in the area - and a picturesque setting surrounded by the River Tern, it offers an elegant and environmentally conscious experience.

Wine Bar:Veenow offers a charming wine bar secluded in the heart of the vineyard, due to reopen on May 9th. You can drop in for a tasting or a glass of wine. Charcuterie boards and vegetarian mezze boards are available, but it is recommended to book these in advance.Opening Hours (Wine Bar): The wine bar is generally open from Friday 25th July 2025, Fridays 4pm – 9pm and Saturdays 1pm – 9pm.Tours: Guided vineyard tours are available and include a tasting of four Veenow wines, complemented by a charcuterie board. Tours are bookable online.

Special Events: Veenow hosts special events, such as their "Veenow Celebration" with live music and BBQ, check their website for upcoming dates.

Accessibility: Please note, you should follow the Google Maps pin drop rather than the farm address for access to the vineyard and wine bar.

Dogs: Veenow is dog-friendly, though dogs must be kept on leads.

Tour & Tasting Prices: Guided tours last 2.5 hours and are priced from £40 per person. Children aged 12–17 are from £15, and under-11s are free; non-alcoholic drinks are provided for younger guests. Advance booking is required - tickets are available at veenow.co.uk/wine-tour-and-tasting.

Food at the Wine Bar: The wine bar serves hot food prepared by Rodriguez Catering, using meat supplied by Morgans Country Butchers, alongside vegetarian options.

Private Hire & Weddings: Veenow is available for private hire, including weddings. Contact the team via the website for arrangements and further details.

Veenow Ltd is dedicated to producing sophisticated still wines, with varieties including Bacchus and Pinot Noir. Their current offerings include a Bacchus white wine with fresh blossom and elderflower notes, and a pale salmon-hued Pinot Noir rosé showcasing strawberry and raspberry flavours. These still wines are produced in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats on-site, a process designed to highlight the terroir from their three vineyard plots.

The vineyard operates with a strong ethos of sustainability. Veenow and its wines are certified sustainable by WineGB, reflecting their commitment to sympathetic, sustainable, and wildlife-loving viticulture practices. They are also notable for being the first UK vineyard to implement UV Boosting technology, which aims to enhance vine health and further reduce their environmental impact.

By Car: The vineyard is approximately 15 minutes from Telford and 20 minutes from Shrewsbury.

By Public Transport: The nearest train station is Wellington (Shropshire). A taxi from Wellington to Waters Upton takes approximately 17 minutes. Local bus services also connect Waters Upton to Shrewsbury.
