What's the vibe

Nestled on a south-facing slope overlooking the historic Tintern Abbey and the picturesque Wye Valley, Parva Farm Vineyard offers a tranquil, rural escape. This family-run working farm provides a warm welcome, inviting visitors to stroll through the vines and enjoy the beautiful views.

Visiting information

Opening Hours: The vineyard shop is open Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM. Visits outside these hours can sometimes be arranged by phone.Tours & Tastings: A self-guided vineyard trail is available for £2.50 per person, allowing you to wander among the vines and learn about the viticulture. Picnics can be enjoyed in the vineyard during the self-guided tour. Free wine tastings are offered in the shop. Guided tours are available for groups by prior booking, typically from May to September, and include a wine tasting. Due to the vineyard's steep slopes, the tour may not be suitable for disabled or infirm visitors.

On-site Facilities: There is no restaurant or cafe on site, but visitors are welcome to bring their own picnics to enjoy in the gardens or designated picnic areas. The farm features a gift shop selling wines, local produce like honey, cider, and ale, and unique gifts. A free car park is available.

Children & Dogs: Children are welcome at the vineyard. Well-behaved dogs on leads are also welcome in the shop and on the vineyard tour.

Special Events: Parva Farm hosts an annual "Come & See the Lambs" exhibition in the spring, offering a chance to see their pedigree Hereford cattle, sheep, and ponies. For other special events, visitors are encouraged to check the vineyard's own website.

The Wine

Parva Farm Vineyard has historically produced a range of award-winning still and sparkling wines, including white, rosé, and red varieties. Their specialities include Bacchus dry white, Pinot Noir rosé, and white and rosé sparkling wines. The vineyard has received numerous accolades in both national and international competitions over the years.

Recent notable awards include a Silver medal for their Tintern Parva Dathliad sparkling brut 2018 at the Welsh Wine Awards in November 2024. In November 2023, their Tintern Parva Bacchus 2019 dry white wine was awarded a Gold medal and named "Best in Class" at the Welsh National Wine Competition. Additionally, the Tintern Parva Dathliad Rosé 2018 was recognised as "Best Rosé Sparkling Wine" and "Best Wine Overall" at the Welsh Wine Awards in November 2022. Their Dathliad Sparkling also won "Best Welsh Wine in the Competition" at the English & Welsh Wine of the Year Competition in 2016.

While the vineyard has produced its own wines and won many awards, a recent update from July 2025 indicates that for the current year, they have decided to sell their grapes to other Welsh vineyards and are not making wine themselves. No specific information regarding organic, regenerative, or other sustainability certifications was found.
