What's the vibe?

Wythall Estate Vineyard offers a serene escape, set within the grounds of a historic 16th-century Manor House that has remained in the same family for over 500 years. This secluded and idyllic location provides a tranquil backdrop of landscaped gardens, a freshwater lake, woodlands, and the vineyards themselves, perfect for those seeking peace and natural beauty.

Tours and tastings: Vineyard and wine tasting tours are led by members of the McIntyre family, taking in the vines before a tasting in the Manor House - book via the vineyard's website.

Wine Garden Sundays: On selected summer Sundays, 12pm to 6pm, the lakeside garden opens for wine by the glass or bottle alongside local charcuterie and cheese.

Dine in the Vines: Seasonal alfresco dining pairs guest chefs' menus with estate wines, plus a guided vineyard walk and canapes on the front lawn.

Staying over: Two self-contained cottages, The Game Larders and The Old Bakehouse, are bookable via Airbnb and both welcome pets.

1276 Wines crafts a range of English still, sparkling, and ice wines from south-facing slopes above Ledbury. The principal varieties are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir Précoce, Bacchus, and Madeleine Muscaris, grown on clay loam soils over Silurian mudstone - a geological foundation that gives the site a distinctive mineral character. Winemaker Laurence Cocking brings a precise, considered approach to the range, which spans classic English sparkling styles through to aromatic still whites.

Alongside the grape wines, 1276 produces fruit ice wines from apple, pear, and blueberry, made in a naturally sweet, concentrated style that sets them apart from most English producers. The winery picked up Gold and Silver awards at the International Wine Challenge in 2026. Wines are available to buy on site and through their online shop.

By Car
From the M50, follow signs towards Ross-on-Wye. Detailed driving instructions are available on the vineyard's website or by contacting them directly.

By Public Transport
Ross-on-Wye does not have a train station. The nearest main train station is Hereford. A taxi from Hereford train station to Wythall Estate Vineyard takes approximately 30-40 minutes (around 15-18 miles). There is no direct public transport link; a bus service operates to Ross-on-Wye, from which a local taxi would be required for the final leg of the journey.
