The Wine

Rothley Wine produces a range of English still and sparkling wines, including white, rosé, and red varieties, as well as unique fruit wines crafted from hedgerow produce like blackberry and elderflower. Their vineyards are home to grape varieties such as Rondo, Regent, Siegerrebe, Solaris, Orion, and Madeleine Angevine.

The vineyard has earned numerous accolades at national, regional, and international competitions. In 2023, Rothley Wine achieved its first GOLD medal for its King Richard 2022 white wine at the WineGB Midlands & North competition, where it also secured trophies for Best Dry White Wine, Best Small Producer, and Grower-Winemaker. In 2024, they were awarded eight further medals and a trophy for Best Sparkling Rosé at the WineGB Midlands & North ceremony. Their Warhorse red wine was notably named Wine of the Week by Guardian wine writer Fiona Beckett in 2020.

Rothley Wine prioritises sustainability with a commitment to reducing its environmental impact. They maintain a "No Insecticide" policy to protect local wildlife like bees and ladybirds, and all vines are maintained and grapes picked by hand. The vineyard also employs innovative practices, such as using local sheep fleeces as a natural weed suppressant and fertiliser, and has planted disease-resistant PIWI grape varieties to minimise the need for fungicides.

While still and fruit wines are crafted on-site in their boutique winery, their sparkling wines are produced using the traditional method at Halfpenny Green Vineyard.
