Nestled in the picturesque South Nottinghamshire countryside, Hanwell Wine Estate offers a peaceful setting for discovering English wines. This family-owned vineyard provides an inspiring and engaging experience, with passionate owners delivering a personal touch to every visit.

Vineyard Tours Our guided tours take around two hours and offer an insight into how we grow our grapes and make our wines. You'll explore the vineyard and production facilities before tasting what we've created. Private Hire & Events We welcome private groups for corporate meetings, team-building days, staff training and workshops. Our indoor and outdoor spaces are equally suited to celebrations-whether that's a wedding, vow renewal or special party. We can also arrange private vineyard experiences for your group any day of the week. Families & Dogs Children are welcome to visit the estate, and if you're bringing your dog along, they're welcome too. Picnics Feel free to bring a picnic and enjoy it on the grounds. Gift Shop Browse our range of wines and gifts in our on-site shop. Seasonal Opening Please note we're closed from 22nd December 2025 to 20th March 2026. Our summer menu launches on 1st May, and from that date Fridays also become available for visits.

Hanwell Wine Estate specialises in English sparkling wines, crafted using the traditional champagne method from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier grapes. Their range also includes a crisp, traditional-method English Sparkling, a smoky, fruity red, and the internationally award-winning dessert wine 'North Star'. The wines are produced in their internationally award-winning winery, with grapes also transported to the nearby Eglantine's winery for processing.

The family has been sustainably growing grapes in Nottinghamshire since 1975, celebrating 50 years in 2025. The vines are hand-tended to maintain a balance with nature, with volunteers contributing to the vineyard's environmental sustainability by performing tasks like bud rubbing and de-leafing. Hanwell Wine Estate was also recognised as Business of the Year in the Celebrating Rushcliffe Awards in 2019.

By Car
Hanwell Wine Estate is conveniently located just one minute's drive from the A46, on the A606 towards Melton Mowbray. Ample free parking is available on-site.

By Public Transport
The nearest train stations are Nottingham (25 minutes' car drive), Loughborough (20 minutes' car drive), and Melton Mowbray (20 minutes' car drive). A taxi from these stations would be required. For bus travel, Centrebus route 19 serves two bus stops on the A606, each less than 500 metres from the estate entrance, involving a short 5-minute walk along Melton Road. The NottsBus On Demand service is also available in the Central Rushcliffe area, offering an alternative transport option.
