Swanaford Vineyard offers a warm, family-run atmosphere nestled within the beautiful Teign Valley in Devon, providing a tranquil escape where visitors can connect with the countryside and learn about winemaking.

Visiting information

Tours & Tastings: Guided tours are available on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from April until the grape harvest in October, and booking is essential. These tours typically last around 90 minutes and include a walk through the vines followed by a tasting of their award-winning wines in the bespoke tasting barn. Private tours can be arranged for groups of 8 or more.


Drop-in: You are welcome to drop in during opening hours for a self-guided wine flight or to purchase wine from the shop.

    Special Events: Swanaford hosts various events throughout the summer, from wellbeing days to "foodie feasts" and popular pizza nights. You can also get involved in grape harvesting during September and October.

    Accommodation: The vineyard features three restored holiday cottages on-site, including two one-bedroom thatched cottages and a larger cottage sleeping up to four. These can be booked individually or together to accommodate larger parties.

    Children & Dogs: Children under 18 are welcome to join tours free of charge. Dogs on leads are also welcome at the vineyard.

    The Wine

    Swanaford Vineyard produces award-winning sparkling and still wines from grapes grown on its south-east-facing slopes in the Teign Valley. Their traditional method sparkling wines, including the "Double Gold award-winning Classic Cuvée," are crafted from classic Champagne varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. For their still white wines, Swanaford cultivates Bacchus and Siegerrebe grapes, resulting in delicious, easy-drinking options.


    The vineyard operates with its own on-site tasting barn and implicitly an on-site winery, allowing them to manage the winemaking process from grape to bottle. No specific information on organic, regenerative, or other sustainability certifications was found.
