Nyetimber

Nyetimber is not open for walk-in visits. Access is limited to pre-booked ticketed events such as Open Day Tours and Chef’s Paired Dining Experiences. Dates are released in batches and tend to book up quickly.

Restaurant / Café:

There is no public café or restaurant on site. Food is only available as part of ticketed dining events (for example, chef-led paired dinners).

Vineyard Tours & Wine Tastings:

Nyetimber’s Open Day Tour typically includes a welcome in the estate’s White Barn, a guided walk through the vineyards, and a hosted tasting in the Medieval Barn. The experience is usually around two and a half hours end-to-end.

On Open Days, Nyetimber also offers the chance to buy wines on the day (often at cellar door prices). At times, the ticket price may be redeemable against a case purchase—details are listed on the ticket page for each date.

Special Events:

Nyetimber also runs a small number of dining-focused experiences, where a multi-course menu is paired with Nyetimber wines (including their prestige cuvée). These are date-specific and ticketed.

Dogs & Children:

Nyetimber events are 18+ only, so children cannot attend. Dogs are not permitted, except registered assistance dogs with advance notice.

Nyetimber produces traditional-method English sparkling wine using estate-grown Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The range includes Classic Cuvée, Rosé, Blanc de Blancs, Cuvée Chérie, Tillington (single-vineyard), and the prestige 1086 cuvée.

Nyetimber is also known for serious industry recognition over time, including standout international competition results and major individual awards for its winemaking team, most notably head winemaker Cherie Spriggs being named International Sparkling Winemaker of the Year in 2018.

By car

Nyetimber Vineyard is located at Gay Street, West Chiltington, West Sussex, RH20 2HH. Parking is free for ticketed events. If using sat nav, Nyetimber advises ignoring directions that route you via Lower Jordan’s Lane—continue on Gay Street until you see the Nyetimber sign.

By public transport

The nearest stations are Pulborough and Billingshurst, with direct services from London Victoria (typically around 1 hour 15 minutes). A taxi from Pulborough is usually around 10–15 minutes, and Nyetimber advises taxis should be booked in advance for event days.

On-the-day practicalities

Nyetimber notes that cash is not accepted on Open Days. Any wine purchases typically need to be taken home on the day as delivery services are not available from the estate.

There’s plenty to do near Nyetimber, from South Downs walks and wildlife-rich reserves to good pubs and small local attractions that work well before or after an Open Day booking.

• Nutbourne Vineyards – A relaxed, family-run option nearby, best known for a friendly tasting room feel and easy-going visits.
• Kinsbrook Vineyard – Close by and well-suited if you want somewhere more informal to pair with a planned Nyetimber event.

• The Black Horse, Amberley – A good pub option if you’re combining the day with an Amberley walk.
• The White Horse Inn, Pulborough – A classic Sussex pub with views over Pulborough Brooks.

Nyetimber’s Open Day experience leans into the estate itself: you start in the White Barn, walk the vineyards, then taste in the Medieval Barn. It’s a nice detail because it doesn’t feel like a generic “visitor centre” format—more like you’re being shown around someone’s working patch of the South Downs.

Nyetimber also highlights that some of the vines you walk past are among the oldest in England, which adds a bit of perspective: English sparkling wine might feel “new” in the wider world, but parts of this estate have genuine history in the ground.

A small practical point that matters: Nyetimber’s Open Day page notes that purchases need to be taken home on the day (no estate delivery service), and payment is card-only. It’s the sort of detail that’s easy to miss until you’re standing there with a box in your arms.
