Tours & Tastings: Welcombe Hills Vineyard operates on an appointment-only basis for its popular Vineyard Tour and Tasting events. These guided experiences, running between May and September, last approximately 1.5 hours and include a stroll through the vines followed by a tutored tasting of four of their English wines. Pre-booked platters of local charcuterie and English cheese are available to accompany your tasting.Important Note: The vineyard will be pausing all events in 2026 for a well-deserved break and will resume tours and tastings in 2027. Sign up for their newsletter to be informed when 2027 dates go live.
Special Events: Beyond regular tours, the vineyard hosts wine-tasting events and cheese and wine pairing evenings. They also participate in collaborative events, such as tasting evenings with local restaurants.

The Wine
Welcombe Hills Vineyard crafts a range of award-winning still and sparkling English wines. Their portfolio includes elegant sparkling wines such as the Ophelia Classic Cuvée and Ophelia Rosé Brut. Still wines feature the aromatic The Tempest Bacchus, a Sauvignon Blanc & Bacchus blend named Twelfth Night, a Rosé called "A Rose by any other name" made from Pinot Précoce and Dornfelder, and a still red, Othello Pinot Noir. The vineyard cultivates nine grape varieties, including Bacchus, Pinot Noir Précoce, Auxerrois, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Dornfelder.The wines have received significant recognition, earning many awards. In 2021, they were awarded five silver medals from WineGB and the IEWA. Their Sauvignon Blanc and Bacchus blend is also an IEWA gold medal winner.
The vineyard employs sustainable practices in its viticulture. While grape cultivation is managed on-site, it is not explicitly stated that they have a full winemaking facility on the premises. They have been producing their acclaimed wines for over 18 years.
