The Wine

Return to contents
Lyme Bay Winery is a dedicated West Country company producing an extensive portfolio that includes English still and sparkling wines, fruit wines, ciders, meads, liqueurs, and spirits. Their still wine range features white wines such as Chardonnay, Bacchus, and Shoreline, alongside red Pinot Noir and rosé, while their sparkling wines include Brut Reserve, Sparkling Rosé, Classic Cuvée, and Blanc de Blancs. Beyond grape wines, they are also notable for being the largest producer of mead in the UK and offer a diverse selection of fruit wines like Blackberry, Cherry, and Elderberry.

The winery has garnered significant recognition for its quality, standing as one of the most awarded English still wine producers. In a historic achievement, Lyme Bay Winery became the first English producer to win both the International Wine Challenge (IWC) National Trophies for Best English White Wine (for their Martin Lane Chardonnay 2020) and Best English Red Wine (for their Pinot Noir 2021) in the same year at the 2025 awards. Other recent accolades include Gold Medals at the 2024 WineGB Awards for their Pinot Noir 2021 and Chardonnay 2021, and multiple Silver and Bronze medals across various wines at the 2025 Decanter World Wine Awards and International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC).

Lyme Bay Winery operates its own facility where all products are fermented, blended, and aged. Uniquely, they do not solely rely on their own vineyards; instead, they work with a network of skilled growers across the South of England to source the best grapes, ensuring access to diverse varieties and microclimates for their exceptional wines. There is no specific information available regarding organic, regenerative, or other defined sustainability practices.
