What's the vibe?
Louma Farm and Retreat is a countryside retreat in West Dorset that combines accommodation, food and wine within a working farm setting. The focus is on slow living, shared meals and a connection to the land, with guests staying on site as part of the experience.Visiting Louma Farm and Retreat
Louma Farm and Retreat operates primarily as a guest-only retreat rather than a public visitor attraction. Vineyard tours and wine tastings are offered as part of the stay for guests, rather than as standalone visits.
Dining is central to a stay at Louma. All guests receive breakfast, lunch and dinner, served in the Farm House or the Main Barn. Menus are built around a farm-to-fork ethos, drawing on produce grown and reared across the farm's own 100 acres, with wood-fired cooking forming part of the approach. See the dining page for more detail.
Accommodation:
The retreat has seventeen rooms and units spread across several buildings and structures, including the Farm House, converted timber stables, restored stone barn studios, shepherd huts and a lodge cabin. Selected units include private terraces with hot tubs, wood-burning stoves, private gardens and kitchens. All guests have access to the wellness barn, indoor and outdoor pools, sauna and gym. Meals are included in all stays. Further details and availability can be found on the accommodation page.
Events & activities:
A full programme of on-site activities is available to guests, including vineyard walks, woodland trails, garden tours, farm animal hour, treasure hunts, yoga, Pilates, sound baths and stargazing. Horse riding is also available.
Private hire:
Louma is available for exclusive use for family gatherings, private celebrations, corporate retreats, birthdays, anniversaries and weddings. The estate can accommodate up to 50 guests across its seventeen spaces, with a fully curated programme of dining, activities and team-building available on request.
Farm shop:
A shop on site stocks farm-fresh produce, handcrafted goods and local products for guests to take home.
Children & dogs:
Louma Farm and Retreat welcomes families and children as part of its guest offering. Dogs are also welcome in designated accommodation, with guests asked to follow on-site guidance due to the working farm environment.
