The Wine Return to contents
Torview Wines is a family-run vineyard and winery known for producing a range of English wines, with a primary focus on red varieties. Their portfolio includes still reds, as well as sparkling rosé and sparkling red wines. The vineyard cultivates several grape varieties chosen for their suitability to the English climate, including Pinot Noir, Rondo, Dornfelder, Acolon, and Pinot Noir Précoce. Their wines are described as dry, fruity, well-balanced, and often gently oak-aged, showcasing soft and easy-drinking characteristics with hedgerow fruit flavours.

Torview Wines has garnered recognition for its quality, winning national awards for its red wines. While specific award details are not consistently published, their commitment to producing award-winning wines is frequently highlighted.

The vineyard embraces environmentally sustainable practices, focusing on biodiversity and regenerative viticulture. Although not certified organic, Torview Wines minimises chemical use and encourages practices like allowing weeds to grow to reduce the need for weedkiller and spraying, which enhances biodiversity. They also implement methods to limit soil compaction.

All Torview wines are made exclusively from grapes grown on their own estate, ensuring full control over the winemaking process from grape to bottle. Wines are typically fermented and matured in stainless steel, with some smaller batches seeing barrel fermentation before being moved to steel tanks with French oak staves.
