Hosted English Wine Tastings in London
Vinebound is bringing hosted English wine tastings to London and your home. We've visited more than 60 vineyards across England and Wales - this is about bringing you the ones that genuinely stood out, not everything we've tried.

What to expect
Each tasting is built around a small, relaxed group. Every wine has been chosen by Stephen, who's visited more than 60 vineyards across England and Wales - this is a shortlist of the ones that stood out, not everything he's tried. There's no pressure to buy anything at the end. The point is discovering English wines you'll want to order again, at your own pace, with people whose company you enjoy.
You choose the venue - your home, a friend's, or somewhere you've already booked - and we bring the wines and run the tasting. Either way, it covers the same ground: five or six wines, tasting notes that skip the jargon, and enough context on each producer to make the evening memorable rather than just informative.
What makes this different
All English wine, nothing else
Most tastings around London pour a broad mix of wine from anywhere in the world. Ours don't. Every bottle is English or Welsh, so you leave with a real sense of what the country's wine scene can do.
Only the wines that earned it
Stephen has visited more than 60 vineyards in the last year. Most of what's tasted along the way doesn't make it into a tasting - what does is the handful that genuinely stood out.
Cheaper than ordering it yourself
Buy six bottles from six different vineyards online and you're paying six delivery charges, often £10 or more each. A shared tasting spreads that cost across the group, so more of what you pay goes on the wine.
Wherever suits you
There's no fixed venue. Pick your own home, a friend's, or a space you've booked, and we'll bring the wines and run the tasting there instead of asking you to come to us.
Other ways to taste wine in London
These aren't specifically about English wine - most cover a broad mix of wines from around the world, though a few occasionally run English-focused nights. Still worth knowing about if a wider style of tasting is what you're after.
Regular, casual tastings
If you want a low-cost weekly habit rather than a one-off event, these are worth a look:
- Unwined (Waterloo) - Monday evenings from 6:30pm, £22.50, a different themed tasting each week, occasionally including English wine.
- The Humble Grape (multiple London branches) - Tuesday tastings with a relaxed, sociable vibe.
- The Wine Tasting Shop (Balham) - weekly events from £45.
- Bow Wine Vaults - themed wine nights built around a specific region or style each time.
- Renegade Urban Winery (Walthamstow) - £25, based at London's own urban winery.
Private and tailored tasting companies
If you want a more formal or education-led experience, or a fine-wine focus, these companies specialise in it:
- London Wine Tasting - WSET-qualified hosts who'll run a tasting at your home.
- Hedonism Wines - a fine-wine and investment-grade focus, aimed at serious collectors rather than casual drinkers.
- South London Wine School and Local Wine School - structured wine education, including full WSET courses.
- Compagnie Wine Bar - venue-based private events for groups.
Vinebound's tastings are different from all of these: entirely English and Welsh wine, chosen firsthand from vineyards Stephen has visited rather than off a standard supplier list. If a broader or more formal tasting is what you're after, the companies above are worth a look. If it's English wine you want to explore, that's what we're building here. We're also open to private bookings for birthdays, work socials or any other occasion to get a group together.
London and the South East
London is where we're launching first, and we're also expecting to bring hosted tastings to parts of Surrey, Hampshire and Sussex before too long. Sign up above and we'll let you know as soon as we're running tastings near you.
Frequently asked questions
When will Vinebound's hosted wine tastings launch?
We're aiming to launch in the next couple of months, starting in London. Sign up above and we'll email you as soon as bookings open.
Is this just English wine?
Yes. Every wine poured at a Vinebound tasting is English or Welsh, hand-picked from vineyards Stephen has visited in person - not a general international wine list.
How much will a hosted wine tasting cost?
Pricing hasn't been finalised yet. We're working out a structure that reflects the wines poured and group size, and it'll be published here before bookings open.
How many people can come to a tasting?
We're planning for small, sociable groups rather than a lecture-hall crowd - details on group size will be confirmed closer to launch.
Can I host a tasting at my own home?
Yes. You choose the venue - your home, a friend's, or somewhere you've already booked - and we bring the wines and run the tasting there.
Do I need to know anything about wine to come along?
No. These are about discovering English wine, not sitting an exam. If you can tell us what you like drinking already, that's plenty to start from.
Is this only available in London?
London is where we're launching first, but we're also planning to bring tastings to parts of Surrey, Hampshire and Sussex. Sign up above and we'll let you know when we're near you.
