A bottle of English sparkling wine is one of the easier gifts to get right. It looks the part, it travels well, and most of the producers will box it and post it for you. This guide covers the gifts worth giving, from boxed bottles and gift sets to magnums for the table, a vineyard tour and tasting, and a wine club membership, with something at every budget from £3.99 to £210. Prices are correct as of 13 October 2026.

Laithwaites offers a different kind of membership through Windsor Great Park Vineyard, its own English vineyard. A six-bottle case is £198 (was £264) and makes you a Vineyard Partner: each May you are offered six bottles of the new release at 25% off, with no obligation to buy.

Wine gift accessories: gift boxes, stoppers, glasses and gift bags

A bottle is more of a gift with something alongside it. These are Laithwaites accessories, and Wiston also sells a stopper at £10. The wooden gift boxes are sold separately from the wine.

FAQ

What is the best wine to gift someone for Christmas?
English sparkling wine in a gift box is the easy answer. Hambledon's Classic Cuvée and Gift Box is £48, Chapel Down's Grand Reserve 2020 and Gift Box is £52, and Wiston's Brut NV is £38 plus £3.50 for a box. For something under £30, Laithwaites' Beyond the Wicket by Stuart Broad is £24.
What is a good gift for someone who loves wine and has everything?
An experience or a membership, not another bottle. A vineyard tour and tasting starts at about £21, and the Wiston Wine Club is £37.50 a month and can be bought as a gift. A stopper or a set of tasting glasses is a small add-on.
Can I get wine delivered as a gift?
Yes. Delivery costs vary by producer. Gusbourne delivers free to the UK mainland on every order, usually within five working days. Chapel Down charges £5.95, or nothing over £75, and Wiston charges £10, or nothing over £95. Langham charges £5, free over £100, and delivers on weekdays only. Bolney charges £7.95, free over £95. Majestic charges £7.95, free over £99, and Laithwaites £7.99 for fewer than 12 bottles, free for 12 or more. Couriers are busiest in the weeks before Christmas, so order early and check the producer's last order date for Christmas delivery. An e-voucher is the last-minute option.
What is considered the best English sparkling wine?
It depends on the competition and the vintage. See the best English sparkling wines for the classic cuvées that have won most since 2025, with the vintage that won each result.
What are some good Christmas gifts for wine lovers?
A boxed bottle of English sparkling wine is the easy choice, from about £24. A gift set with glasses, such as Nyetimber's at £65 or Gusbourne's at £75, takes it up a level. For a table of six or more, a magnum starts at £67, and for someone who has everything, a vineyard tour and tasting starts at about £21.
