What's the vibe?

Shotley Vineyard is a small vineyard on the Shotley Peninsula in Suffolk, overlooking the Orwell and Stour estuaries. The setting is rural and coastal, with a focus on welcoming visitors to enjoy the vineyard environment alongside tastings, food and events.

Tours & Tastings

WSET-trained guides lead tours of the vineyard, finishing with a tutored tasting of Shotley wines. Tours and tastings are available from £18 per person, with a wine tasting flight also available separately from £10 per person. Grazing boards can be added alongside a tasting flight. Booking is essential and should be made at least 48 hours in advance. View tastings and tours.

Food at the Vineyard

Afternoon Tea in the Vines is available, and must be booked at least 48 hours ahead. The vineyard also hosts a calendar of seasonal food events - including seafood nights with Pinney's of Orford, Wagyu burger evenings, and pizza nights - available to book via the events page.

Parking

There are 10 on-site parking spaces. Public car parks are available nearby if these are full.

Private Hire

The vineyard is available for private room hire, with corporate events and weddings also catered for. Private room hire starts from £50. Contact the vineyard directly for availability and further details.

Gift Shop

Shotley wines and gift cards are available to purchase on site and via the online shop.

Children & Dogs

Children are welcome but should remain seated and not wander the vineyard unsupervised. Dogs are welcome on leads at all times.

Shotley Vineyard produces a range of English wines made from grapes grown on its Suffolk site. The portfolio includes still white, red and rosé wines, as well as a sparkling wine made using the Charmat method from a blend of grape varieties suited to the local climate.

Shotley wines have received recognition in regional English wine competitions over time, reflecting the vineyard’s focus on quality and careful grape growing.

Winemaking for Shotley Vineyard is carried out off site in collaboration with an external winery. Vineyard management places emphasis on thoughtful farming practices aimed at maintaining vine health and reducing unnecessary inputs.

By Car
The vineyard is located on the Shotley Peninsula and is accessible by car via local roads. On-site parking is available, with additional public parking nearby if required.

By Public Transport
The nearest mainline railway station is Ipswich. From there, visitors can continue by taxi or local transport. Seasonal ferry services also connect Shotley Gate with Harwich and Felixstowe.
