Corrected -- not fixed Mon-Fri 11-4 hours. Site now says the Cellar Door is open whenever staff are on site, and asks visitors to call ahead before visiting. There is also a separate recurring Cellar Door Friday event (a scheduled open Friday, e.g. one dated 21st August was live at time of checking) distinct from the general call-ahead policy. Guided Vineyard Tour and Tasting and Private Group Tours are also bookable separately.

Giffords Hall Vineyard is a family-run vineyard set in the Suffolk countryside, offering a relaxed, rural visit centred on vineyard tours, tastings, and its cellar door. Visits are designed to be friendly and informative, with an emphasis on enjoying the setting and the wines rather than a high-volume visitor experience.

Tours & Tastings:

Small-group Vineyard Tours run approximately 1.5–2 hours and take in a guided walk through the vines, a visit to the Winery and Barrel Hall, and a tasting of four wines, finishing with a glass of your favourite to enjoy. Tours are priced from £35 per person and must be booked in advance - dates can be selected via the booking page. Cheese and biscuits are served alongside the tasting.

Private Group Visits:

Private tours are available for groups of nine or more, following the same format as the public tours - vineyard walk, Winery and Barrel Hall, tasting of four wines, and time in the Cellar Door shop. Bookings are made via an enquiry form on the website.

Cellar Door:

Tasting flights are available directly from the shop. Visitors are advised to check current opening times before travelling.

Accessibility & Facilities:

All buildings and lavatories are wheelchair accessible. Outdoor paths are generally manageable in fine weather, though surfaces can be uneven - flat shoes are recommended for the short walk to the vines. Ample on-site parking is available. Dogs are welcome on leads throughout the vineyard and on all tours. Children are welcome; wine tasting is limited to visitors aged 18 and over.

Accommodation:

Self-catering accommodation includes a two-bedroom Vineyard Cottage sleeping four, with a private patio, and a one-bedroom Garden Annex with its own entrance, underfloor heating, and continental breakfast available. Children are welcome in both; dogs may be accommodated in the Garden Annex by prior arrangement.

Events:

Giffords Hall Vineyard produces a range of English sparkling and still wines, including white, rosé, and red styles. Grape varieties grown include Bacchus, Rondo, Madeleine Angevine, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Blanc, alongside other traditional varieties.

The vineyard’s wines have received recognition at English wine competitions over the years. Winemaking takes place on site, allowing the estate to oversee production from vineyard to bottle.

The estate follows a considered approach to vineyard management, with an emphasis on responsible land care and long-term sustainability.
