What's the vibe?

Burnt House is a family-run vineyard set on a south-facing slope in the Suffolk countryside, with a modern visitor centre — all large windows and clean lines — looking out over the vines. The atmosphere is relaxed and unfussy, equally suited to a leisurely afternoon with a glass in hand or a proper guided visit.

Opening Hours: The cellar door and Vineyard Kitchen are open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Current autumn/winter hours are Friday 12pm–8pm and Saturday 12pm–8pm; Sunday closing time varies by season. Check the website for up-to-date times before visiting.

Tours & Tastings: Guided tours and tastings run from April to September and last approximately 1.5 hours, taking in a walking tour of the vineyard before moving to the Vineyard Kitchen and Tasting Room for a flight of three wines. Tickets are required and must be booked in advance. Prices start from £25 per person. You can also drop in on open days without a booking to enjoy the vineyard and a glass at your own pace.

Food & Drink: The Vineyard Kitchen and Tasting Room serves a small plates and grazing menu — locally sourced charcuterie, cheese and antipasti that pair well with the wines. For morning tour departures, lunch is served after the tour at 1pm. An antipasti selection board can be added to any tour booking. Table reservations are recommended.

Events: The vineyard runs a varied events programme, including sparkling wine tasting evenings, Picnic in the Vines, festive workshops, and food truck nights. Private hire and corporate events are also available, and weddings can be hosted on site.

Accessibility: The vineyard has good wheelchair access throughout its visitor facilities.

Children & Dogs: Both are welcome. Children can join you in the vineyard, the Vineyard Kitchen and the shop, though guided tours with wine tasting are intended for adults. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor spaces and should be kept on a lead around the vines.

Burnt House Vineyard, established in 2017, cultivates Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, Bacchus, and Pinot Gris grapes across 22 acres of south-facing slopes. They produce a range of still and traditional method sparkling wines, with their Bacchus, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier Rosé being particularly popular and often selling out. The vineyard produces over 10,000 bottles annually and also supplies grapes to other wineries.

Their wines have quickly gained recognition, with Burnt House Vineyard making a significant impact at the East of England Wine Awards 2025. They were awarded the first-ever Suffolk County Champion title and received the Best Sparkling Wine award for their Brut 2021. Their Chardonnay 2023 also earned a bronze medal at the same awards.

The vineyard is committed to sustainable agricultural practices, reflecting a deep respect for the land. They employ a direct drilling system to minimise soil disturbance and have created wildlife margins, winter bird food areas, and nectar flower mix areas to enhance biodiversity. Their operations are set up to be modern, efficient, and sustainable from the outset. Burnt House Vineyard has its own cellar door and visitor centre, opened in 2022, indicating on-site winemaking and bottling.

By Public Transport: The nearest major train station is Stowmarket. From Stowmarket station, a taxi or pre-booked ride is required, taking approximately 15-20 minutes to reach the vineyard.
