The Wine at Coes Farm
Coes Farm is a family-run organic vineyard set within 50 acres of open fields and woodland in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in East Sussex. The estate has farmed the same land for around 500 years; the current family moved here in 2020 and planted the vineyard in 2021.
The seven-acre vineyard and orchard are managed organically, with a few biodynamic preparations used in the vine rows. The main planting focuses on the classic sparkling varieties - Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier - alongside Pinot Gris and the lesser-known Sauvignac. Traditional-method wines are made by Daniel and Nicola Ham, with guidance from natural winemaker Sophie Evans.
