Represents the actual VINEYARD-visiting experience (guided tour, booked, 10-min uneven woodland walk) -- as of Sept 2026 only scheduled July-August Saturdays, no autumn/winter/spring tour dates found on the site's own booking calendar. Deliberately narrower than the shop's own hours: the Coach House wine SHOP is open Wed-Fri 12-5pm and Sat 12-4pm year-round (no seasonal closure, confirmed via event calendar spanning Oct-Aug) for tastings and buying other producers' English wine, but that's a retail visit, not a vineyard visit, so it's kept out of these hours per Stephen's call (2026-09-09) that finder search/open-now should reflect vineyard visiting, not shop hours -- the shop's separate schedule must still be surfaced as a caveat in the listing copy. Opening hours can change for private events - it's always worth checking the vineyard's website before you visit.
What's the vibe?
The Shiny Vine sits on the Leicester Grange Estate, straddling the Warwickshire and Leicestershire border near Hinckley, in a Coach House that houses a specialist English wine shop and a young vineyard planted with nine grape varieties, including the PIWI trio of Divico, Rinot and Cabernet Blanc alongside classic Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Good things come to those who plant: the estate’s own bottle hasn’t been released yet, so what’s for sale for now is a hand-picked run of other English producers’ wines, chosen by a WSET-trained team. Come for the shop and the tasting room, and treat a first glimpse of the vines themselves, on one of the summer tour dates, as the bonus rather than the main event.Visiting The Shiny Vine
The guided vineyard tour is a summer-only booking: Saturday afternoons, 1pm to 3pm, running July and August. It’s a ten-minute walk from the Coach House along an uneven, sloped woodland path to the vines, followed by four wine pours and nibbles, £35 per person. Outside those months there’s no tour to book, but the shop keeps its normal weekly schedule year-round: Wednesday to Friday, 12pm to 5pm, and Saturday, 12pm to 4pm, with wine to taste before you buy.
For a longer sit-down, evening wine and cheese tastings run six pours against artisan cheese for £45 to £50 a head, and the calendar fills out with free-entry seasonal gatherings such as Corks and Disco Balls or Harvest Day, usually with a food truck and live music.
Dogs aren’t allowed on site, assistance animals excepted, since grapes are toxic to them. The shop and tasting room are on one level, but steps between some rooms in the Coach House and an uneven courtyard mean full accessibility isn’t there yet; call ahead if that matters for your visit.

The Wine at The Shiny Vine
There’s no Shiny Vine bottle to buy just yet. An estate wine was announced for release in August 2026, but as of this writing it still hasn’t reached the shelves or gone on sale online, so what’s on offer instead is a hand-picked selection of other English producers’ wines, tasted in-store with a WSET-trained team on hand to talk you through it.
The vines are already in the ground, nine varieties across the estate. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir cover the classics, while the majority of the planting is given over to PIWI grapes, disease-resistant varieties bred to need less spraying, among them Divico, Rinot and Cabernet Blanc.
Getting to The Shiny Vine
The Shiny Vine is on the Leicester Grange Estate, Hinckley Road, in the village of Wolvey, right on the Warwickshire and Leicestershire border. It’s a rural spot best reached by car, with easy access from the M6, A5 and M69.
What's nearby
For a second stop, Blabers Hall Wine Estate is around a 25 minute drive across the Warwickshire countryside, and Rothley Wine, over the Leicestershire border, is roughly 35 minutes north.
For the extra curious
Most vineyard shops sell only their own wine. The Shiny Vine currently does the opposite: while its own vines mature, the shop’s whole purpose is comparing what other English producers are doing, poured and explained by a WSET-trained team rather than left on a shelf to work out for yourself. It’s a useful way to taste your way across England’s wine regions without leaving Warwickshire, and worth remembering that the estate’s own bottle, once it finally lands, will have real company to be judged against.
