Opening Hours
Tasting barn has posted weekly walk-in opening times (e.g. 11-4/11-6 Wed-Sat) but no fixed recurring weekly schedule published - times change week to week; site explicitly says 'No bookings required and no entry fee to the vineyard - just come and have fun!'. Guided tours are separately bookable.
Opening hours can change for private events - it's always worth checking the vineyard's website before you visit.
Visiting The Rutland Vineyard
No booking is needed and there's no entry fee. Just arrive during opening hours, generally Wednesday to Saturday, and you'll be found a seat in the tasting barn. Because the vineyard sets its hours a week at a time rather than publishing a full season in advance, it's worth checking their Instagram or Facebook before setting off, especially outside peak summer weekends.
Tour tickets go on sale each February for the summer season, running Friday evenings from 6pm to 8pm and covering a walk through the vines, five wines to taste, and some light bites. Groups of ten or more can email ahead to arrange a private tour.
The tasting barn serves homemade cake, coffee, and local cheese boards, with gluten-free options available when in stock (there's no vegan option yet). Wines are also sold through the vineyard's online shop, open around the clock if you'd rather order without the trip.
Dogs are welcome on the terrace and around the Six Pack Track, a one kilometre nature trail through the vineyard, as long as they stay on lead for the wildlife. They're not allowed inside the tasting barn itself. There's also a separate dog park on site, booked directly through rutlanddogpark.co.uk, if your dog needs to run off lead before or after your visit.

The Wine at The Rutland Vineyard
The Rutland Vineyard grows Bacchus, Ortega, Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir Précoce, Cabernet and Pinot Meunier. Second Nature White blends Bacchus and Ortega for a still white with elderflower and fresh pear aromas and a zesty palate. Second Nature Red pairs Pinot Noir Précoce with Cabernet, giving dark fruit aromas, black cherry flavours and supple tannins. First Fizz, their inaugural traditional-method sparkling wine, blends Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier from the 2023 vintage.
Getting to The Rutland Vineyard
The vineyard is on Barrowden Road in Ketton, Rutland, PE9 3RJ, about ten minutes from the A1, A47 and A43, and a short drive from Stamford.
