The vineyard is not open to the public in 2026 - they are pausing public tours and tastings for the year. Trade customers only are welcome by appointment. Wines can still be bought online or from local stockists.

What's the vibe?

Nestled on the Welcombe Hills with sweeping views over picturesque Stratford-upon-Avon, Welcombe Hills Vineyard offers a quintessential English wine experience. This family-run estate cultivates its award-winning wines on land once farmed by the Shakespeare family, providing an intimate setting with stunning historical backdrops.

Tours & Tastings: Welcombe Hills Vineyard operates on an appointment-only basis for its popular Vineyard Tour and Tasting events. These guided experiences, running between May and September, last approximately 1.5 hours - around 30 minutes walking the vines followed by a tutored tasting of four of their English wines. Tickets are priced from £20 per person, and pre-booked platters of Warwickshire charcuterie and English cheese are available to accompany your tasting.

Important Note: The vineyard will be pausing all events in 2026 and will resume tours and tastings in 2027. You can sign up to their newsletter to hear about 2027 dates, and we'll of course keep anyone on the Vinebound mailing list up to date.

Special Events: Beyond regular tours, the vineyard has hosted wine-tasting events and cheese and wine pairing evenings. They also participate in collaborative events, such as tasting evenings with local restaurants.

Accessibility: The tasting room is on the first floor, reached by one flight of steps, and is not currently wheelchair accessible. Dogs and well-behaved children are welcome at the vineyard, though the tasting itself is for adults only.

Weddings & Private Hire: As a general rule, the vineyard does not host weddings or private hire events.

Online Shop: Wines can be purchased directly through the vineyard's online shop. If you're planning a party locally, they also offer free glass hire with the purchase of 12 or more bottles.

Welcombe Hills grows Bacchus, Pinot Precoce, Dornfelder and Chardonnay on a south-facing slope above the River Avon, on well-drained clay soils. The range covers still white wine, rose, and Methode Traditionnelle sparkling, including the Ophelia and The Tempest collections.

The vineyard is family-run by Nichola and Jonathan Kelsey, who have been making wine here for over two decades. Public events are paused for 2026, though wine remains available through online sales and wholesale.
