Chilworth Manor doesn't have regular walk-in visiting hours. Visits happen via ticketed events - Tours & Tastings, seasonal events like Friday Night Fizz and the Wine Festival - bookable via their website. Thursday/Friday 1–4pm is a wine order collection slot, not a visiting time.

Opening hours can change for private events - it's always worth checking the vineyard's website before you visit.

What's the vibe?

A family-run vineyard on a 13-acre south-facing site in the Surrey Hills National Landscape, Chilworth Manor Vineyard produces English sparkling and rosé wines on land with roots going back to the Domesday Book. The converted Watch House Tasting Barn makes for a characterful setting - views across the vines toward St Martha's Hill, complementary tasting bites included.

Tours & Tastings: Guided tours and tastings run for approximately 90 minutes and must be booked in advance - places are limited. The experience includes a short walk around the vineyard followed by a guided tasting of four wines, with complementary tasting bites served alongside. Tickets are from £39 per person and are for adults aged 18 and over only. Children are not permitted on ticketed experiences, and dogs are not permitted on site at tours and tastings.

Opening Hours: The vineyard does not offer casual drop-in visits. Wine can be collected on Thursdays and Fridays between 1pm and 4pm. All other visits - tours, tastings and events - are by pre-booking only. Check the website for upcoming dates.

Events: Chilworth Manor Vineyard hosts events throughout the year, including Friday Night Fizz evenings (first Friday of each month, May to September), Afternoon Tea & Sparkling, Words & Wine, Picnics & Pinks outdoor concerts, the Chilworth Wine Festival, and seasonal events such as Christmas at Chilworth. The NGS Open Garden series also takes place here. Picnics are welcome at suitable outdoor events.

Private Hire: The Watch House Tasting Barn is available for private celebrations and corporate events. The barn includes a professional kitchen, making it suitable for catered occasions and away days. Contact the vineyard directly for availability and pricing.

Facilities: The Watch House Tasting Barn hosts all tours and ticketed experiences. There is no on-site restaurant. Parking is available at the vineyard. The site includes some hilly sections; visitors with specific accessibility requirements are advised to get in touch before booking.

Chilworth Manor Vineyard grows Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier across 13 south-facing acres in the Surrey Hills - the classic sparkling wine trio, turned here into English sparkling wines and a still rosé. The first rosé came from the 2016 vintage; the first sparkling, from 2017 fruit, was released in 2021. The vineyard was among the earliest in Britain to achieve formal sustainable credentials through WineGB and is a founding member of Sustainable Wines of Great Britain (SWGB). Sustainable practice runs through the whole operation: mechanical hoeing instead of herbicides, grass cover between vine rows, solar electricity, harvested rainwater, a fertigation system for efficient nutrient delivery, on-site beehives and insect habitats to support biodiversity.

By Car
Chilworth Manor Vineyard is located approximately 3½ miles southwest of Guildford. From the centre of Chilworth Village, turn into Blacksmith Lane, which becomes Halfpenny Lane. The vineyard is just under half a mile along this road on the right.

There are beautiful trails around the vineyard, so on a nice day parking at one of the St Martha’s Hill car parks a couple of miles from the vineyard is recommended if you have the time and ability to walk.

By Public Transport
The nearest train station is Chilworth, located 0.8 miles away, which is approximately a 15-minute walk. Shalford Railway Station is 2.4 miles away, and Guildford Railway Station, a larger hub, is 4.4 miles distant. Bus route 32 (Guildford – Dorking – Reigate – Redhill) stops at Chilworth Railway Station. The Longfrey Farm bus stop is 812 meters from the vineyard, about a 12-minute walk.
