What's the vibe?

Stanlake Park Wine Estate offers a captivating blend of rich history and modern winemaking, set within picturesque grounds featuring stunning red-brick barns and serene gardens. It provides a fun, unpretentious, and educational experience for all visitors, whether you're a wine connoisseur or new to English wines.

General Visits: The Wine Bar & Cellar Door is open Tuesday to Sunday - Tuesday and Wednesday 9am–6pm, Thursday 9am–8pm, Friday and Saturday 9am–9pm, Sunday 9am–6pm. The estate is closed on Mondays, except Bank Holidays when it opens 9am–6pm. No booking is needed to visit the wine bar, where you can drop in for wines by the glass, cheese and charcuterie boards, cream teas, or a light lunch.

Tours & Tastings: Guided vineyard and winery tours run year-round and must be pre-booked online. Tours last around 90 minutes, with six wines sampled at different stops along the way. Pricing starts from £25 per person, with an optional cheese tasting add-on available for £10 more. After the tour, guests are welcome to relax in the wine bar or walled garden. Tours and tastings are strictly for guests aged 18 and over.

Events: Stanlake Park hosts a wide-ranging events calendar including rosé and sparkling wine tastings, WSET Level 1 and Level 2 courses, wine quiz nights, wine and pilates sessions, and themed evenings covering wines from Greece, South Africa, and Spain, among others. The estate also serves as a wedding and private hire venue, with spaces accommodating between 10 and 150 guests.

Accommodation: Two self-catering lodges sit within the estate grounds. North Lodge is a one-bedroom gatehouse sleeping two, well suited to a couple's break. South Lodge is a four-bedroom villa sleeping up to eight guests. Both have been recently renovated and come with vineyard views, fully equipped kitchens, Wi-Fi, and Smart TVs. Guests receive a complimentary bottle of Stanlake Park wine and a voucher for a wine tour. Children are welcome in South Lodge but not in North Lodge. Pets are not permitted in either lodge. Prices for South Lodge start from around £500 per night. Additional double rooms are planned for the near future.

Accessibility: Step-free access is available throughout most of the estate, with ramps and accessible parking near both the Coach House and Vineyard Barn entrances, where accessible toilets are also provided. Vineyard tours can be adapted to be entirely step-free, with seating available at stops on request - it is worth discussing any requirements when booking. Note that the route through the Walled Garden features gravel, and there is deep gravel between the car park and Vineyard Barn; wheelchair users may prefer to drive between these two areas. The upper floor of the Bow Loft is not accessible due to stairs.

Dogs: Pets are not permitted on the estate, with the exception of registered assistance dogs.

Children: Tours and tastings are for guests aged 18 and over, including babies and toddlers. Children are welcome at South Lodge accommodation.

Stanlake Park Wine Estate produces a wide and diverse range of English wines, including traditional method sparkling wines like Heritage Brut and Stanlake Brut, as well as still white, rosé, and red wines. Notable white wines include Bacchus and Madeleine, alongside a Pinot Noir Rosé and red wines made from Pinot Noir and Dornfelder. The vineyard also offers a selection of vegan-friendly wines.

Their Bacchus 2018 earned a Silver Medal at the London Wine Competition in July 2020, recognized for its quality, value, and packaging.

The estate is committed to sustainable winemaking practices, aiming to minimize its environmental impact. This includes using Shropshire sheep for natural vineyard management, reducing the need for mowing and artificial fertilizers, and minimizing sprays through precise application and canopy management. They also employ solar panels and actively recycle and reuse packaging.

Stanlake Park boasts an on-site winery, one of the oldest and largest in the region, capable of processing up to 70 tonnes of grapes annually. Head winemaker Nico Centonze applies a modern, international approach to crafting their wines, and the winery also provides contract winemaking services for other local vineyards.

By Car: The estate has a large, free car park. It is situated on the B3018 Waltham Road, easily accessible from the M4 (Junction 8/9).

By Public Transport: The nearest train station is Twyford, which is served by direct Great Western Railway and Elizabeth Line trains from London Paddington (approximately 30-40 minutes) and Reading (approximately 7 minutes). From Twyford station, it's a pleasant 15 to 18-minute walk on pavement or a quick 3-minute taxi ride to the vineyard.
