Visiting Woodchurch Wine Estate

Woodchurch Wine Estate is open to visitors year-round. Opening Hours: The shop, bar and food terrace are open Thursday to Sunday and Bank Holidays, 11am–5pm. No booking is required to visit - walk-ins are welcome, and admission is free. Bar & Food: Wine is available by the glass, bottle or flight, alongside local drinks. The food menu spans snacks, cheese and charcuterie boards, and hot plates, with stone-baked pizzas served on Saturdays and Sundays. Booking is recommended if you plan to eat, especially at weekends. Tours: Self-guided vineyard walks are available using a free map collected from the bar and take around 20 minutes. Guided vineyard tours and tastings can also be booked in advance, lasting approximately 1 hour 15 minutes, from £25 per person. Private tours are available by arrangement. Accommodation: There is no accommodation on site. Dogs & Children: Dogs on leads are welcome in outdoor areas. Children are welcome when accompanied by adults. Getting Here by Public Transport: Ashford International is the nearest major station, served by high-speed trains from London St Pancras and Stratford International approximately every 30 minutes, with a journey time of around 36 minutes. From Ashford, the vineyard is around 20 minutes by taxi. Slower services from London Charing Cross also stop at Ashford.

The Wine at Woodchurch Wine Estate

Woodchurch Wine Estate produces a range of still and traditional-method sparkling English wines. Core grape varieties include Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Bacchus. The estate is particularly well known for its sparkling wines. The Woodchurch Classic Brut has received multiple awards, including Gold medals at the Decanter World Wine Awards and the Independent English Wine Awards, and has been named Kent Wine of the Year. Other sparkling releases have also received national and international recognition. Viticulture focuses on a low-intervention approach, avoiding herbicides and insecticides where possible and encouraging biodiversity around the vineyard. Wines are produced in Woodchurch’s modern on-site winery using careful, minimal-intervention methods.
