What's the vibe?

Brissenden Vineyard is a small, family-run vineyard in the Weald of Kent, tending vines over 30 years old across seven acres and offering a hands-on, informal experience focused on small-scale wine production and seasonal activities. Wines are made on site by winemaker Kobus Louw.

Booking: Visits to Brissenden Vineyard are by advance booking or appointment. This includes tours, tastings, and seasonal experiences.

Tours & Experiences: Private vineyard tours and experience days are available, typically involving a guided walk through the vineyard and an introduction to winemaking. Experiences can be tailored for groups by arrangement.

Events: The vineyard runs seasonal family trails - including a summer spy trail in which children navigate their way around the vineyard - alongside vineyard tours and experience days. Details are announced through the vineyard's own channels.

Dining Options: There is no permanent restaurant or café on site. Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic or ask the vineyard to provide one. Catered options including a breakfast basket, afternoon tea, and a ploughman's platter can be arranged by prior agreement. Picnic benches are available to hire.

Accommodation: Brissenden Vineyard offers two on-site accommodation options. The two-bedroom annexe sleeps up to six guests across a double room, a twin room, and a sofa bed, and has a balcony with views across the vineyard. A small campsite is also available, offering exclusive use of four generous plots bookable for groups by arrangement, with the vines providing a distinctive setting. Dogs are welcome at the campsite. Both options are self-catering; guests can arrange vineyard tours and tastings during their stay.

Private Hire: A self-contained barn function room is available for private hire, suitable for events ranging from parties to retreats. It includes a fridge, electricity points, a wood burner, and toilet access. The vineyard can also be hired for celebrations.

Dogs & Children: Dogs are welcome on site. Children are also welcome for appropriate activities and experiences.

Brissenden Vineyard grows a mix of grape varieties including Pinot Noir, Bacchus, Reichensteiner, and Chardonnay. These are used to produce a small range of sparkling and still English wines, alongside other estate-made drinks.

The vineyard operates an on-site winery, allowing grapes to be processed and wines made at the estate. Vineyard and winemaking work is carried out on a small scale with close involvement from the owners, alongside an emphasis on careful land management.

By Car: Brissenden Vineyard is located at Little Brissenden, East Sutton Road, Kent ME17 3DU, between the villages of Headcorn and Sutton Valence.

By Public Transport: The nearest mainline railway station is Headcorn. From there, onward travel to the vineyard is typically by taxi.
