Top 50 Vineyards in Britain

There are now around 200 vineyards in the UK open to the public, making it difficult to know which ones are worth your visit. These are the top 50 vineyards as judged by Google reviewers. But this list should only be your starting point for vineyard discovery - many vineyards have excellent ratings and reviews but don't appear in this list because of the formula used, and there are lots of amazing hidden gems just waiting to be discovered.

How are the rankings calculated?

We use a Bayesian-weighted average of Google ratings that balances average score with number of reviews. It's the same type of system IMDB uses, but it does mean that larger vineyards or those that have been open longer and have had more visitors and therefore likely more reviews have an advantage.

Are all vineyards eligible to be listed here?

Vineyards must have at least 50 reviews to be listed here, and they must be vineyards you can visit. Vineyards that are usually only available to visit as a wedding venue aren't included for example.
