Lokkelebery Vineyard offers a tranquil rural escape in the Hertfordshire countryside beside the historic village of Old Welwyn. Established by farmers with values of family, farming and heritage, it combines the joy of growing vines with a welcoming atmosphere and plenty of outdoor space to explore.

Visit, Events & Volunteering:
Lokkelebery runs a programme of ticketed events from May to September, including Cheese & Wine Evenings, Wine Safari tours, a Rosé Edition Safari, the PINKnic Wine Launch, VineyART sessions and Volunteer Mornings. Pre-booking is essential for all events - tickets are not available on the door. Event listings and booking are available via the vineyard's events page.

Tours & Tastings:
Guided vineyard tours are available from around £45 per person. Wine tastings - typically paired with British cheeses - run for approximately two hours and are priced from £25 per person. All tours and tastings must be booked in advance. Tours are open to guests aged 18 and over only.

Volunteering sessions are held throughout the year, offering a chance to spend time outdoors and contribute to vineyard work such as vine care, pruning and harvest activities. Participation is subject to health & safety sign-up and schedules vary by season - check the vineyard's volunteer page or newsletter for current dates.

Food & Drink:
A horsebox bar operates at events, serving a curated selection of local food and drink. Outside food and drink may not be brought to the vineyard unless specifically permitted by the event description.

Dogs & Children:
Dogs are not permitted on site for farm biosecurity and health and safety reasons; guide dogs are the only exception. For health and safety reasons, tours are open to guests aged 18 and over only - please check individual event listings for age requirements.

Accessibility:
The terrain is rural and uneven. On-site toilet facilities are not currently suitable for wheelchair users.

Parking:
On-site parking is available. Arrival directions are provided with event booking confirmations.

Lokkelebery Vineyard, established in 2022, is a young Hertfordshire vineyard planted with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir Précoce - the classic varieties of English sparkling wine country. The vineyard was set up with the guidance of Dr. Alistair Nesbitt, a respected figure in English viticulture, and vineyard manager Jonathan Rodwell. The first still wines, including a rosé, are anticipated for release in 2025, with traditional method sparkling wines expected from 2028 as the vines reach maturity.

The vineyard takes a thoughtful approach to land management, maintaining wildflower meadows and wildlife hedgerow corridors alongside environmental monitoring to inform vine care decisions. The farm itself sits on land with a documented history of agricultural use stretching back centuries, and the team regard that sense of place as integral to what they are growing. Wines are not yet in commercial release and have not entered competitions.

The nearest train station is Welwyn North, with a taxi or local transport recommended to reach the vineyard site from the station.
