What's the vibe?

London Cru occupies a grade-listed Victorian warehouse down a small alleyway in Fulham - tucked away rather than a passing-trade destination. Founded in 2013 as London's first urban winery, it started out fermenting grapes imported from Europe before shifting its focus to English fruit. There is no vineyard on site; visits centre on the working winery itself and a guided tasting, run for small groups rather than as a walk-in bar.

Visiting London Cru

Winery tours: There is no walk-in access - visits happen through scheduled Winery Tour events, held roughly monthly, at £28 per person. Dates are listed on the website and need booking in advance.

Winemaker For A Day: A longer, more hands-on experience (11am-4pm) costs £170 per person and runs on specific dates through the year.

Private hire: The warehouse can be booked exclusively for up to 100 guests for private events.

The Wine at London Cru

London Cru's focus has moved from importing European grapes to working with English fruit, and the range now spans still and sparkling wines: Bacchus, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris among the whites; Pinot Noir Précoce and a Pinot Noir sold under the LDN Cali Cru label among the reds; a Cool Hand Pinot Noir Rosé; and three sparkling wines - a traditional-method Blanc de Blancs and Blanc de Noirs, plus a PétNat.

The wines have picked up IWC medals and appear on the lists of several Michelin-starred restaurants.

For the extra curious

London Cru was the first urban winery in the city when it opened in 2013, several years before Blackbook, Renegade or Vagabond's Canada Water site followed. Its original idea - importing grapes from mainland Europe and fermenting them in London - has since given way to working with English-grown fruit instead.
